Chelsea is a honey. I interviewed her as an excuse to put her photos up without being a creeper. Plus she's pretty darn cool.
Who
are you, and what do you do?
My name is Chelsea, I'm a friend, sister, model, food lover and
law/journalism student
.
#Casual. How did you get into modelling?
I started modelling when I was 16, but decided I wanted to take it more seriously once I was 18. I sent a few photos to my current agent and it all started from there.
So if you had the choice, would you prefer to a be a hugely successful model, a partner in a law firm, a top journalist for The Age or an imposing and well respected, travelling food critic?
I love everything that I do, but a travelling food critic for sure. I just love food and travel that little bit much more.
Where have you experienced the best food of your life thus far?
Haha ahh, that's so tricky! I love all food. The best experience, though, was probably Spain. Tapas are addictive, you can't get enough. Add that to wine and you have yourself an afternoon activity.
Oh god, Sangria especially. What do you see yourself as in a decade?
Sangria especially! I have no idea at all, but I hope by then I would have travelled a lot and found myself capable of preparing my own roast and pasta sauce from scratch. Also a stable writing job would be really nice.
What would you like to write about?
Lots of things, but mostly stories about other people and their lives and thoughts. I like reading articles about creative people and people from other cultures, and their thoughts about life/politics/business/leisure/their experiences/culture etc...so definitely something relating to that. Also I would love to write about food/cool places to go in different parts of the world.
That sounds pretty cool. It only dawned on my recently that maybe because I'm interested in how people live/think/function, I should interview them! Anyhow, next question! Let's get superficial, what piece of clothing do you want above all else right meow?
Hmm, that's so tricky! I'm really into hats right now. I've been travelling for a month and am really excited to get back to Australia because it's beanie season. Baggy t-shirts and light denim jeans are also on my faves list right now, but the first thing on my wish list currently is probably a pair of bright Nike high top sneakers. Don't ask me why, I just want some.
Sneakers are cool, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. What music are you digging these days?
Alt-j, Ben Howard, Chet faker, the XX, the panics, grimes. There's lots, but those are my favourites right now.
So what do you reckon, Mozart or Elvis?
Mozart, he was just so brilliant. But they both are brilliant, so that's a hard decision!
I concur... Now for a super personal question, how would you describe the perfect chair?
It would definitely be a sofa, and it would be really soft and would have a crochet rug over it. It would also be placed next to a coffee table with lots of coffee table books. The fabric would have to be suitable for all temperatures too, nobody likes a leather chair on a hot day.
If you had to pick a bone to break in your body, how and which would you choose? Probably a middle toe. Boring I know, but it would probably hurt less than breaking a leg and then at least I could still limp on it. I would like it to break while I was asleep or passed out, or when I was awfully drunk because you don't feel pain as much.
Logical. Alright lucky last question: what do you think the meaning of life is?
I don't think there is one single meaning, but the way I go about it is in the end, I want to look back knowing I tried everything I wanted to try, traveled everywhere I wanted to travel and did everything I wanted to do. I find comfort in knowing I don't ever have to stay in a place I don't want to stay in or be with people who don't bring out the better in me, or do anything I genuinely don't want to do (if you think about it). I'm not really scared of change or being alone and I really like spontaneity and not knowing what will come next, so maybe that adds to it a bit. Also I think you should read a lot in your life and always travel. And eat well. Food is what gets me up everyday!
